The Heart of the Role

This is a role for a pastor with a servant’s heart—someone who can balance the weight of leadership with the tenderness of pastoral care. You will be the primary teacher and visionary, guiding our staff and ministries as a spiritual elder and leader under the authority of Christ.

Key Responsibilities

  • Word & Worship: Lead and provide Christ-centered teaching for Sunday and Wednesday services, ensuring every message points the congregation back to the Gospel of Jesus.
  • Vision & Spiritual Leadership: Seek the Lord’s direction to set the vision for our church, ensuring our ministries are healthy, vibrant, and aligned with Biblical truth.
  • Shepherding the Flock: Prioritize deep pastoral care. This includes visiting the sick in hospitals, calling members in times of need, and providing spiritual counsel to those walking through life’s trials.
  • Staff & Ministry Mentorship: Manage and shepherd our staff and ministry leaders, fostering a culture of prayer, unity, and shared purpose in Christ.
  • The Great Commission: Serve as a vocal, local presence in our community. You will lead the charge in evangelism, reaching the “least and the lost” with the message of Jesus.
  • Biblical Compassion: Actively lead our efforts to care for the widows and the orphans, ensuring they are never forgotten in our church or our city.

Who You Are

  • A Devoted & Above Reproach Follower: Your life is defined by your relationship with Jesus and a desire to see His Kingdom grow. You model the character qualifications of 1 Timothy 3:1–7, living a life that is above reproach, sober-minded, self-controlled, respectable, and hospitable.
  • A Shepherd & Leader of His Home: You don’t just lead from the pulpit; you walk among the people. You have a genuine love for people, a “boots-on-the-ground” approach to ministry, and a proven track record of managing your own household well with dignity.
  • A Visionary Elder: You can see where the Lord is leading and have the spiritual maturity to take the congregation there. You are gentle, not quarrelsome, and free from the love of money.
  • A Compassionate Evangelist: You have a burning fire to reach those far from God and a heart that breaks for the marginalized.
  • Locally Rooted: The ideal candidate resides within the local community. All candidates must live within 30 miles of the church or be willing to relocate.
